IMSA Watkins Glen
In town for the race. What a track. New asphalt with excellent grip. Long straights, elevation, sweeping turns. Great scrappy racing from Michelin Pilot series today. Big cars go for 6 hours tomorrow.
Old school too. Feels like 1970s racing. Sahlen’s hot dogs and Genesee Beer. I will post some crappy pics for you ladies this week.

Good stuff Biff. Last time I covered this race I got my pants caught in the top of fencing ripped them to shreds...blood and all, hopping into a fenced off area at bottom of esses. They laughed their asses off when I came into the press tower. LOL, good times.

Thanks Chief. Wonderful track. Produced some really great racing. We are going back next year as well and will visit the bar at Seneca Lodge, which I guess has all kinds of great F1 memorabilia.
Re: IMSA Watkins Glen
Stayed at the lodge many times while covering races....incredibly nostalgic whenever I go there. Makes me remember the brisk weather, waning sunlight and colorful autumn leaves of the F1 years. Awesome times, don't miss the lodge next time!

Yep - can't wait. How awesome that you were there for F1. Those were the best years.
My son, who really loves Formula 1, said to me "Just think - Lauda and Hunt raced on this very track"

Okay , if your remember the great fall races, (either spectacular leaves color changes, or horrible rainy cold weather),
then you have to remember the "6 hour- Can-am weekends. Now there was a deal for spectating.
Saturday, 6 hour race, and Sunday the same cars mixing with Denny and the boys in Can-Am.
And of course "The Bog".
